Icon of the Seas is known for its immense size, family-friendly features like the largest at-sea waterpark and innovative propulsion technology. With a length of 365 meters, a width of 66.5 meters, and a gross tonnage of 248,663 GT, it spans 24 decks and represents the most ambitious cruise ship ever constructed.

The ship can operate on both diesel and liquefied natural gas (LNG), and integrates advanced sustainable systems such as fuel cells for electricity and freshwater production. Icon of the Seas also introduces a parabolic bow design for improved stability and smoother motion, and for the first time in cruise ship construction, ultra-strong steel has enabled the creation of openable glass balconies in Infinite Ocean View Balcony rooms.
